A couple of days ago, I launched a very exciting project. So I thought it would be a good idea to write a blog post about it too.
What is the project all about?
Well, it is all about podencos! As pod lovers, we all know about the plight of podencos in Spain. Several tens of thousands of podencos are abandoned or killed each year in Spain after the hunting season ends in February, and together with the galgos the number is estimated to be between 60,000 - 80,000. However, there is a special group of people who work super hard to make sure that these dogs get the life they deserve, both in Spain and the rest of the world. Podencos are adopted out into Europe, UK and even the US and Canada! This project is not an adoption project, but it does aim to spread the word about this wonderful breed in the UK!
In 2023, I will be working on a special book project called 'Podencos in Scotland'. For this book I am organising multiple photoshoots throughout the year, so I am looking for several podenco models with a story to tell.
